STOP Hunger program receives award in Poland

Children's Friends Association is grateful to Sodexho Poland and Sodexho PASS Poland.

On 7th June 2006 in the Educational Centre of CFA, which is under our patronage, Mr. Wieslaw Kolak, President of CFA Mazowiecki Provincial Party, ceremonially handed the prestigious "Child's Friend" award to the representatives of Sodexho Poland and Sodexho Pass Poland for their work with the Association through the STOP Hunger program.

Anna Mac, the Project Leader of STOP Hunger in Poland said, "This is the most beautiful award that we could ever get for our contributions from the STOP Hunger program."

After the official ceremony children performed their own artistic program and since Children's Day (the Polish national celebration), passed a few days ago, Sodexho teams handed the children sweet gifts and nice presents.

About the Award
In 1948 Labour Children's Friends Association  and Rustic Children's Friends Association had joined and the General Management of Children's Friends Association has been found. On 21st June 1949 Presidium of the General Management of CFA undertaken a resolution about the “Child's Friend” award for the most deserved performers. The award can be handed by Provincial Departments and the General Management on the lower grade board's request as well as individuals' or institutions' requests. The award can  be decreed to the people who are involved in children's problems socially not professional.

Recently awarded are, among others:

• Children ward head in the Provincial Hospital in Radom
• Director of the Health Politics Agency in Warsaw
• Canadian Ambassador
