Argentina donates food & building materials

Sodexho Pass Argentina donates food & building materials to community charities.
In celebration of Sodexho Pass Argentina's 6th Anniversary, last month the company donated food and construction equipment to two different organizations that support those in need in their communities. Sodexho Pass donated 9 tons of food to Comedor Los Piletones, which is a feeding centre for poor children. More than 1800 people are recipients of meals here each day.
The centre is located in Buenos Aires and also contains a health centre, medicine bank, and day care centre for children and elderly. Building materials were donated to Centro Vecinal Los Romeros, located in Cordova.
The small town has seen development over the last ten years, making it possible to re-open the school, count on current water and electricity, install a public telephone line, and organize different events for the residents. Sodexho Pass has helped to build a special lounge that hosts meals and events including the Provincial Festival of the “Locro” (a typical food of the area).
Together with the residents of Cordova, Sodexho Pass is also studying ways to help with education and nutrition programs as well as helping to develop productive tasks to provide self-sustaining opportunities. These could include producing handcrafted fabrics or the production of honey.
